Mother of All Shows Premieres (and gets a nice first review!)

It was totally thrilling to be a part of the Mother of All Shows world premiere at Cobble Hill Cinemas in Brooklyn on June 1. The show opened the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival and played to a full house. It was beautiful to see so much of the cast and crew again.

L to R: Matt Campagna, Johnathan Sharp, Juan Chioran, Phil Luzi, Tarah Consoli, Nick Londono, Melissa D’Agostino, Wendie Malick, Rebeccas Everett, & Me outside Cobble Hill Cinemas on opening night!

If the mood wasn’t already celebratory enough, we also received a really lovely review from Jamie Toth (@somewhatcyclops) who praised the script, acting (especially Melissa’s!), and emotional complexity that we were aiming for when writing this script. From Jamie’s review:

really enjoyed this movie, and was moved to tears by a couple of sections because of how much Liza’s story (and her emotional growth) moved me. Everyone seemed to remind me of someone I knew, and the situations very much resonated with me because of my own history with a narcissistic parent. But the beauty of Mother of All Shows is that though the film deals with heavy topics, it does so in such a light fashion it’s never weighed down.

This was the first time I’ve seen something I’ve written on a big screen (with a warm and responsive audience), and I hope this film continues to find audiences. There are a few more screenings planned, and I’ll no doubt be tracking adventures here. However, for all things Mother of All Shows, there’s a new snazzy website at www.moasfilm.com
