Mother of All Shows Soundtrack: Sarah Slean sings Mothers and Daughters

Fresh off the Los Angeles premiere of Mother of All Shows, here’s the first single from the soundtrack to the film, a real 80s ballad called Mothers and Daughters (Daughters and Moms) sung by the wonderful Sarah Slean

Sarah Slean sings Mothers and Daughters (Daughters and Moms) from the Mother of All Shows Soundtrack

This song is one of many original songs written by Melissa D’Agostino, composer Rebecca Everett, and myself, and “Mothers and Daughters” was inspired by the torch song ballads of the 70s and 80s. Think Bette Midler’s Wind Beneath my Wings meets Up Where We Belong by Jennifer Warnes & Joe Cocker meets every song The Judds ever did.

”Mothers and Daughters” forms a major narrative elements for the film, for it’s the very song Rosa (played by Wendie Malick) wants to sing with her daughter Liza (played by Melissa D’Agostino) to gloss over years of emotional abuse. But Liza isn’t having that!

More songs to come (and news on the Toronto premiere coming soon!).
